The article presents an analysis of the book “The Mordovian Folk Epos” issued in Saransk in 2023. This publication can rightfully be called a reflection of the creative potential of the Mordovian people. Attempts to create an epos of the Mordvins have been made repeatedly. Back in the early 1930s, folklore material was accumulated, in the structure of which works of an epic nature stood out. It’s been a long time since then. The texts for the published academic version were rethought, an approach to the determination of the structure of the book was developed, cycles were distinguished. The book includes mythological songs about the creation of the earth and man, about the establishment of traditions on earth; lyroepic works about the marriage of gods, gods and people; texts about the leader of the people Tyushtya, etc. As a result, it can be argued that this academic publication meets the modern requirements for scientific publications, it is of interest to future researchers and to everyone who is interested in studying the spiritual heritage of the Mordovian people.
