Abstraсt

The article presents the historical aspects of the development of universal military training (vsevobuch) of the population in the conditions of the Civil War. People from 16 to 40 years of age were trained in the art of war. The presence of a trained combat reserve for the army was the main reason for the introduction of the all-training. Citizens from 18 to 40 years old who completed the course of training were considered liable for military service. Military commissariats were engaged in organizing military training on the ground. Using the example of the Ardatov, Temnikovsky and Krasnoslobodsky district military commissariats, the work analyzes the process of organizing military training among the population in the Mordovian territory.

The system of universal education and its individual elements are still relevant today in connection with the new tasks of Russia in modern military and political conditions. The organization of mass initial military training among the younger generation contributes to the development of patriotism, practical skills for active actions in different life situations.
