The space of Russian folk dance in Mordovia: the specifics of local features

Burnaev A. G.

Abstraсt

The article discusses the circulation of Russian folk dance in the territory of Mordovia and the problems of its existence and preservation. Of particular interest is the conceptual side of the work — the addressing the problem of the local plan. It should be noted that there are still no full-scale studies, as well as the results of ethnographic expeditions devoted to the existence of Russian folk dance in Mordovia. From a practical point of view, this study allows us to outline the main ways of studying Russian dance in the region, which is rapidly losing its features. The research analysis is based on the specific facts of the dance culture of the peoples inhabiting the border territories of the Volga region, and the characteristic nuances of Russian dance in the districts of Mordovia. The Volga region territories (Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Penza regions and the Chuvash Republic), of course, left a peculiar mark not only in household plastics, but also in the moves of Russian folk dance in Mordovia. The study and presentation of territorial features, the spread of authentic samples, their introduction into stage dance culture, professional choreographic art require a certain approach. When studying local verities of the Russian dance plasticity, the method of areas is used. Like a method of cartographic representation, it helps to consider the dance area of the spread of the Russian choreographic phenomenon in Mordovia most widely. Projections of the cartographic points of Russian settlements in the Middle Volga region along the territorial borders of Mordovia demonstrate a kind of vector model of the development of original dance zones of Russian folk dance, consisting of certain regional areas, relief niches and hidden lacunae.
