Abstraсt

The article is devoted to the analysis of projects devoted to the history of the First World War, which were developed by Institute staff at different stages of the functioning of the Scientific Research Institute of Humanities under the Government of the Republic of Mordovia. During the Soviet period, researchers focused on the issues of the formation of the rear and the labor contribution of the people, social inequality, class contradictions and the consequences of the war for the region. The works of I. I. Firstov, N. V. Polin, M. V. Dorozhkin belong to that period. Since the early 1990s, the prevailing ideological paradigm has become a thing of the past, and historians have actively begun to correct numerous positions in Russian historiography that have been established since the Soviet period. In 2012, V. A. Yurchenkov’s monograph “The Outline of Mordovian History” was published, where a separate paragraph is devoted to the First World War. The author analyzed and summarized all the historical studies of scientists who analyzed the period in question in the Mordovian region. In 2013, a collection of scientific articles and documents “The Great War and the Russian Province. 1914 — 1918”, in which materials were published made it possible to correct and clarify some key points in the study of the First World War. Among its authors are both employees of the Institute (V. A. Yurchenkov, M. A. Bibin, N. N. Zorkova, E. I. Deniskin, L. G. Filatov) and other regional historians (S. V. Belousov, I. B. Strizhova, E. I. Yurin, M. D. Zhuravleva, I. B. Nimanov, etc.). One of the priority areas in the work of the recreated Russia. In 2012 The Russian Military Historical Society (RVIO) has become a problem of studying the tragic events of the First World War. In 2014, on the initiative of the Regional Branch of the RVIO, a Monument to the heroes of the First World War was opened in the center of Saransk. In general, the rich experience accumulated by the institute allows us to speak about significant achievements in the development of key problems in the history of the First World War.
