“Scientist — Administrator of Science” Dichotomy in the Collective Directors Portrait of NIIGN

Abstraсt

The article attempts to reconstruct the collective biography of the directors of the Scientific Research Institute of Humanities by the Government of the Republic of Mordovia for the entire time of its existence. The biographical material related to the professional activities of the institute management staff is analyzed; various parameters of the collective portrait of a director are examined: education, nationality, gender and age characteristics, academic competencies, career paths, achievements in work. In conclusion, it is summarized that each historic time corresponds to a specific set of personal requirements for the personality and professional training of the head responsible for the issues of state policy in the field of science.
